New Fall TV 2013 P1

Everyone who knows me knows that my favorite time of year is the Fall. I usually wax poetic about the colors changing and the characteristic weather of the Fall, but there's one thing about this season that usually goes unmentioned: the new shows of the Fall TV season!! Right around this time is where all the major broadcast TV networks debut new shows to the world! Brand new worlds, which the networks hope will light new fires in the minds of their audiences, step out onto the stage and get their chance to shine! Now this year, I'm going a step back and sharing with you the shows I'm interested in BEFORE they air! Here are the NEW shows I'm looking forward to this fall season!

Sleepy Hollow (09/16 @ 9pm on FOX) - My favorite holiday is Halloween and there is no other story that is unique to Halloween than that of the Headless Horseman. This is going to be an updated re-telling of the Sleepy Hollow story in the style of National Treasure. Check out the trailer!

Blacklist, The (09/23 @ 10pm on NBC) - James Spader is an awesome actor. And he's at his best when he's playing condescending asshole bad guys. So, NBC decided to create a show where he is given the opportunity to do just that! Here's the trailer:

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (09/24 @ 8pm on ABC) - For anyone who knows me, my interest in this show was a given. I'm a comic fan, a sci-fi fan, and a Joss Whedon fan. Yes, of COURSE, I was going to watch this show. Welcome to Level 7.

The Crazy Ones (09/26 @ 9pm on CBS) - Robin Williams is back on TV. 'Nuff said.

The Michael J. Fox Show (09/26 @ 9pm on NBC) - I am unashamed to say that I absolutely LOVE Michael J. Fox. He is a great actor, has fantastic comedic timing, and has a tremendous personal spirit; evidenced by the way he has handled his disease both personally and professionally.  When I heard the was coming back to TV, I was instantly hooked. Then I saw the trailer!

More to come on Part Deux!

  1. I didn't know anything about the show Sleepy Hollow until now. But I see it has--HOLY SHIT--Clancy Brown, Nicole Beharie (loved her in American Violet), Orlando Jones, and John Cho? That's it, I'm sold! Normally I wouldn't watch such a show, but this cast is amazing. Guy playing Ichabod seems passable, too.

Although, the real Sleepy Hollow is just a 45 minute drive from where I live (camped along the Hudson there while in the Boy Scouts), and it looks NOTHING like this show. Although, it IS sorta creepy in real life, too. The older parts of the town at least.

Of course, S.H.I.E.L.D. is on my list, too. As well as that Dracula show in your Part 2 list (btw, I don't know why you felt the need to split these posts. Trying to boost your post count, eh?). Other than these, I'll pass on the rest.

Oh, and Sleepy Hollow begins right before Halloween along with the next season of Grimm, another fave of mine. Can hardly wait!

    1. I'm surprised that you didn't know about Sleepy Hollow. It feels like the advertising for that show is EVERYWHERE. Maybe it's just me.

And I split the post into 2 because it was getting INSANELY long. And as a former college instructor, I know the benefit of delivering information in short bursts as opposed to one long diatribe.

And I am DEFINITELY waiting for the next season of Grimm. October is going to be a FANTASTIC month!

  2. I'm interested in exactly the same shows! At the top of my list is The Blacklist. James Spader as the anti-hero in a drama...SOLD! Plus we can imagine what he will be like as Ultron in The Avengers 2. ;)

    1. Yeah, I'm a big fan of Spader myself. From his appearance in Mannequin straight on through to now, he has consistently delivered in all his performances.

Thanks for reading, Traveler, and thanks for commenting!
